Matthew 18:20

¹⁸Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ¹⁹Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in^[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (NIV)

I’ve been given all authority in heaven and on earth. All, there’s none that I don’t have, there is no authority apart from me. None. Therefore, as my disciples and sent ones, go! Go on! Get out there! Make more disciples. Immerse them in the reality of my Father, and me and the Spirit and this new life we give you, our presense.. Teach them to obey all that I have commanded you, teach them to love their Heavenly Father, teach them to particpate in the Kingdom, teach them to preach and teach the good news of this new life. Teach them to love! Love wholeheartedly, without reservation, without condition, regardless of how they’re treated. And, teach them to go, and make more disciples. But don’t just teach them the commands, teach them to obey them. Teach them as I taught you. It was practical, we didn’t sit in school rooms. You got your hands dirty. Teach them the same. Teach them to interact with the people around them that don’t know me. Teach them to set the captives free. Teach them to bind up the brokenhearted. Teach them to restore sight to the blind. Teach them to share their lives with the poor, the rejected, the prostitutes, the drunkards, the lonely, the peacemakers, the… broken. Teach them how to live this life I’ve given you. In their every day lives. In their real lives. Teach them. And as you go, I’ll be with you, and I’ll watch over you, and I’ll be there for you. Go.
